Hymn and Scripture Challenge #6 - Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us

Hello, my friends! I am finally here with my Challenge page! Can you believe I was late with this one? It was the first time ever! I'm not going to get into all the reasons why it's late...I'm just happy to be posting it!
Okay, you know I have to say it, don't you? This is one of my favorite hymns! lol For my choice of Scripture verse I pulled from the third verse of the song...
"blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, hear, O hear us when we pray;
blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, hear, O hear us when we pray."
What a wonderful assurance we have that God hears our prayers...not only does He hear them but He answers them...according to His will!  I love to pray, and I pray for all of you that pop in and visit me! Max Lucado says..."Prayer pushes us through life's slumps, propels us over the humps, and pulls us out of the dumps. Prayer is the oomph we need to get the answers we seek." :o)
I had fun coloring this sweet image of the praying girl. It's actually a Christmas stamp, so it was a little tricky to ink it up without getting any of the background! It's another image that reminds me of my girls when they were little...saying their bedtime prayers! I'm off to say mine now! :o)

Here's a closeup of the Scripture verse:

Happy Monday!

Hello, my friends! Happy Monday to you all! I have a new card to share with you today. I was excited about this card for two reasons. First of all, I finally had a chance to colour one of Pamela's fun images from Free Vintage Digital Stamps. You can find her blog HERE or look for her button in my sidebar. Secondly, I'm using one of the first Scripture rubber stamps that I've managed to purchase. I don't know why it's so hard to buy Scripture stamps! Either the shipping is too high, or the stamps themselves are too expensive! Why is that? I was so happy to find this set at one of my favorite Canadian shops...on sale! This one is from a Heartfelt Creations set called Trust in the Lord. This image of the little girl reading reminded me of my girls when they were little. They always loved to read, and carried their stacks of books around the house with them! lol The Scripture verse was always my prayer as a Mother...that I would follow the Lord's leading as I guided my girls! I wish you all much JOY this week! :o)

More of My "Happy Little Moments" Altered Book

Happy Monday, my friends! I'm back with an update on my Happy Little Moments Class! After putting my kit together and cutting into my old book, I was ready to keep going with my pages. Then I realized that I had a couple of other projects with deadlines that I really HAD to finish first. So I was a good girl and did that! lol Then during my time on the treadmill on Friday a fun theme for my book suddenly came to mind. Yes...I am happy to say that I have now bonded with my new treadmill and I'm actually doing a lot of productive thinking during our time together. A few of you will understand what I mean when I say that it's quite impossible to nod off and have a nap while using it! lol
Sorry...back to my book :o) So, instead of Happy Little Moments, I have entitled my book "Happy Little Collections". In it, I will document several fun little collections I have gathered. Most of you won't be very surprised to hear that I don't have photos of these collections but that's never stopped me, has it? I will just put in photo mats where I intend to put photos. One of the fun things I discovered is that some of these collections are well represented with my die and stamp collections. You'll see what I mean as we get further into the book. I'll also make a real effort to get some photos finished and included!
For those of you that want to continue to follow along, I have created a new Label in my side panel called "Happy Little Moments Class". You can just click on that to take a peak at the progress after these posts are lost among other posts. Okay, so here are a couple of photos of my front cover. I hope you like it! :o)

Hymn and Scripture Challenge #5 - May the Mind of Christ My Savior

Hello, my friends! I'm going to let you in on a little secret about my process with my Challenge pages. I don't actually look at anybody else's page or post until my page is complete...not even Patter's! However, after seeing the title of this hymn, I did have to scroll down Patter's email for further investigation, as I wasn't sure I recognized it. I clicked on the video link and after hearing the first line I realized I did know it after all...I just didn't recognize it by name. It wasn't in the hymn book I own, so I wrote the words out on my page. What beautiful words they are! Each verse is like a separate little lesson for life, and each can be supported by many different Bible verses. I chose a Scripture verse for the third verse of the hymn. Colossians 3:15 says:
"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts,
since as members of one body you were called to peace.
And be thankful."
I love how the "be thankful" part is added on at the end, don't you? It's almost like it's an afterthought...yet to me, it's so random in it's location that it becomes a main focus! It's great, isn't it? So two important reminders here: to live in peace and to be thankful! :o)
This time I just created a page that looked the way the song made me feel. I used my Stampin' Up music notes wheel for the background of the song words. It's not really that evident so I thought I'd point it out! The sweet little image came from Birdie Brown. I'll put a link in my materials list. It's a simple page for a fabulous hymn and Scripture. I'm including the video that Patter used, as well. You'll find it at the end of the post. It's really lovely! Here's a link to Patter's post HERE. I hope you all have a beautiful week of JOY! :o)

A Fun New Project Begins For Me! :o)

Hello, My Friends! I recently heard about a fun new online class being offered over at Studio Calico called "Happy Little Moments" by Maggie Holmes. Do you know I've never taken a scrapbooking class before? Online or otherwise!  I totally fell in love with this class; first the title...then the sneak peeks...then the price of only $10!! lol How could I not sign up? There was a gorgeous kit available to purchase but I had just picked up the Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe Collection. That collection gives me a "happy little moment" every time I look at it, so I knew it would be perfect for this class. So just yesterday I pulled from my stash and put my kit together. The class involves altering a vintage book. So I went through my library of books and picked out a wonderful old copy of Jane Eyre...the colors are perfect for this project. I've taken a couple of pictures of my kit to show you what I'll be working with. Please excuse the quality of my photos...it's been snowing and dreary here today.

Doesn't that look like a ton of fun? Now of course I'm working right here in my studio, so I can pull out whatever I want! However, I really liked the idea of starting with a "kit".
So today was the start date, and I got my PDF! The project is incredible and I am so excited to be doing it! I'll be sharing bits of my book with you here as I go along! I actually have no idea exactly what I'm going to put in it yet...you all know how I am with my photos! haha I just know that I'm going to fill it up with goodies and thoughts and quotes and "things" that make me happy! It will all be a process! ;o)
Today the process began with cutting into the book...YIKES!! Yes, I did it! I actually cut my old Jane Eyre apart. I had to keep my eyes open to do it too because I had a sharp blade in my hand! lol Oh, dear! :o)
