Scripture Lessons and Lyrics #6 - Until the Whole World Hears

Hello and Happy Sunday, my friends!

I'm happy to be back today with a new Scripture Challenge page...finally!
I have fallen behind on this challenge but I really appreciate that there is no deadline or time limit.
My intention is to work at it until I'm all caught up and back on track.
So you should see more of them very soon!

For those of you that are new here...I welcome you!
I have been participating in this Scripture challenge for several years.
Each year I do a different format.
This year I am using a SNAP binder with pocket pages.
I also incorporate the Simon Says Stamp Card Kit each time.

Until The Whole World Hears
is another fantastic contemporary song that I love to hear!
It's by Casting Crowns, and if you don't have any of their music I suggest you get some.
My page was inspired by these words of the song:

"Ready yourselves, ready yourselves!
Let us shine the light of Jesus in the darkest night!
Ready yourselves, ready yourselves!
May the powers of darkness tremble as your praises rise!"

There is a lot of darkness in our world, isn't there?
Don't you just love the idea of the power of that darkness trembling?
We can shine the light of Jesus and make that happen!

The Scripture verse I used is found in Matthew 5:14a and 16:

"You are the light of the world!...
Let your light shine before men,
that they may see your good deeds
and praise your Father in heaven."

Let us each be a light in the world!
Let's praise God and set that darkness to trembling! :o)

Live Like a Butterfly

Hello again, my friends!

It seems all my posts are coming at once again.
If you've missed my last couple, please scroll down and take a look when you're finished here! :o)

My favorite, and almost local, scrap store was having a fun layout challenge.
I had lots of fun putting this one together, using some photos taken in my garden last summer.

This challenge included three prompts that you had to include on your page.
They were:
have some purple somewhere on your page,
use the word "live",
and add some texture.

Here is my 12 X 12 layout:

In three places, I did some random stitching,
and then added a vellum butterfly and some bling.

I heat embossed the letters of "live" with glittered embossing powder.
The rest of the words were done on my Dymo Buddy.
Then I added a bit more bling.

I made the purple flowers to mimic the chive blooms in the photos.
Then I added some pretty little flowers that had been gifted to me.

Materials Used:
Papers: Bazzill Basics Paper, K & Company - Watercolor Bouquet;
Dies: Cricut Cartridge - Edge to Edge,
Sizzix - Flower, Build a Flower #2, Flower Layers #3,
Stampin' Up Embosslit - Beautiful Wings;
Punches: Stampin' Up - Elegant Butterfly, Fiskars Corner Punch - Lace;
Embossing Powder: Martha Stewart Embossing Glitter - Peridot;
From My Stash: Chipboard Letters, Dymo - Label Buddy, Bling,
Small Flowers and Leaves.

Ephemera's Vintage Garden - Love Is Chic #3

Happy Wednesday evening, my friends!

I'm back to share my third and final project using the
Love Is Chic Digital Journal Kit from Ephemera's Vintage Garden.

As some of you know, I just finished a mini album using this beautiful kit.
If you haven't seen it, just scroll down and take a look at my last post.
I had lots of tags left over that I chose not to use in my previous album.
So what did I do?
I made a mini mini album using all those pretty tags and leftover bits of paper!
I also altered a sweet little tin to put it in.

I made this mini with another event in mind.
On Sunday is my 29th Wedding Anniversary
and I just might give this to my Sweetie!
I have inked all the edges of everything with Iced Spruce Distress Ink.
All the tags are backed with light grey cardstock.
There are lots of placed to write all kinds of gushy sentiments!

Here's the front of the tin:

Here's the bottom of the tin:

Here's a side view...showing the silver tin and the pretty trim:

The mini mini is a perfect fit!
It measures 3" X 4 1/2" if you include the binding wires.

I made the front page into a pocket that holds a couple of tags. On the back I added a stamp.

I adhered all the word digis together and added them randomly throughout the album.
The back of the "laughter" says "you & me".
The next page is one of the little paper bags from Michaels.
It makes another great pocket to hold more tags.
It's quite thin, so IRL you can see the image on the tag.
Then on the front I added another stamp.

Here's the back of the bag with a little digi and a tag page.

The page on the right is another paper turned into a pocket.

The other side of the "forever" says "together" and the right page is one of the envelopes from the kit.

Here's the back of the envelope. I used a leftover flower to hold it shut. The right page is another tag.

Here's a closer look at the tag inside the envelope.
Isn't it adorable? I actually included two of these! ;o)

Another decorative addition on the left side, and a tag on the right.

The back of the "devotion" says "love" and then I added the lock. The key is on another bag.

On the back of the bag I added this beautiful heart. The right page is another pretty tag.

Here I adhered two of these matching hearts together and made a little insert.

Here is the back page of the mini. I made it a pocket page too.

This one final photo shows all the tags that are in the pockets.

This sweet little mini was so fun to put together!
Other than the two little paper bags, and some grey cardstock,
everything is from the Love Is Chic Digital Kit.

Ephemera's Vintage Garden - Love Is Chic #2

Hello, my friends!

Well...you've had a couple of days off...so now I'm back with a new project for you! :o)

This is my second project using the incredibly beautiful "Love Is Chic" printable journal kit from Ephemera's Vintage Garden. This kit is so pretty and fun to work with.

*You'll have to make sure that you read right to the bottom because I have some happy news posted there.*

I made this mini album in my favorite pocket page design. The outside of the album measures 5 1/2" X 7 1/2", and the inside pages are 5" X 7".  Each pocket holds two cardstock insert tags; one that folds over the page, and one that extends beyond the pocket. The pocket inserts are just slightly smaller than that, so they easily hold a 4" X 6" photo. This album could easily hold a total of thirty-six 4" X 6" photos. I, myself, would have a hard time covering up some of these pretty papers. That's why I like this style of album so much; there's the pretty...and then there's the practical! :o)

Let's begin with the cover:

The front, back, and spine of the album are a chipboard base covered with pink cardstock. Everything has been inked with Iced Spruce Distress Ink. I then added the cover paper from the journal kit. All of the kit papers have been distressed and inked. The cover has a lovely heart key hole, and I added the Tim Holtz one that fit perfectly over it. The album has a ruffled elastic closure.

Here's a full view of the cover.
The spine is decorated with a piece of pretty mini rosette trim, a seam binding bow, and a dangly charm.

I wasn't sure how I was going to attach the charm because of the rosette trim. I finally opted to pop an eyelet through the center of the top flower. I put a loop of the seam binding through the eyelet and tied another piece of seam binding on the other side, in the middle of the book, to secure it. I slipped a Tim Holtz Swivel Clasp on it, tied a knot, and then tied it into a bow. To the Swivel Clasp I added some pearls, some tiny Fleur de lis', and the key that fits the keyhole on the front cover.

Here, on the back cover, you can see how the ruffled elastic trim was attached.
I placed two floral eyelets through the finished cover, threaded the trim through, and tied it in a pretty bow.
You'll see that in a later photo.

Now we'll take a look at the pages. Here's what they look like all together.

This is the inside front cover and the first page. As I said, each pocket page holds two tag inserts; one in grey and one in pink. The grey one folds down over the page, and the pink one extends out of the pocket. For the next series of photos I have removed all of the tags. I want you to see the gorgeous work Debbie has done on this wonderful kit.

On the inside front cover I fussy cut these pretty flowers out of one of the pages and added it as a corner pocket. It holds this beautiful printed envelope. I then added the pretty stamps.
I didn't add anything to the next page...it's too pretty just as it is.

Aren't these beautiful?
I apologize for the lighting in some of these photos...the sun was playing hide and seek!

On the left page I popped up the "together" and the "forever" on the top and bottom of the page.
The bottom serves as a holder for another lovely printed envelope.

Again, not a single embellishment was added.
This is the center of the album where the seam binding was added through the spine to fasten the spine embellishments on the outside. I cut it long enough to extend out the bottom of the book.
It makes a great bookmark.

Aren't these pages pretty?

This printable page on the left was one of my favorites, so I actually used it twice.

Here is the last page, and the inside back cover.
On the right you can see the pretty bow created with the elastic trim.
I added the heart as a corner pocket and slipped in this matted card from the kit.

Here is a closer look at the grey pocket tag inserts.
The folded edge has been decoratively punched, and then stamped in pink with this pretty image. A flower was stamped and die cut and adhered to the center. Under each flap I stamped a journaling spot, and then added a pretty rose to the corner. I used Liquid Pearls for the flower centers. Each of the grey tags are finished in the same way.

Here's a look at the pink pocket insert tags. Again, the edge has been punched, and each one was stamped in grey ink. Three have the little label square which would be perfect for a date or location of the photo, and three have a little row of flowers.

Here is a closer look at the mini envelopes and the matted tags that are in them.

Here's one extra picture...just because I liked the way it looked! :o)
