Just Some Friday Fun...Posted on a Saturday!

Hello, Friends!

My fingers have been itching to create some layouts!
My mind is abuzz with ideas for my trip photos,
but I don't have any of them printed out yet.

Then this morning I was totally inspired by a sketch.
I grabbed a photo I had on hand and got busy!

This sketch was posted on Scrap Much Blog.
I just recently found their site, and I'm happy to play along.
It looks like Laura makes lots of fabulous sketches!

When I find a sketch inspiring, I tend to stay very true to the sketch.
I chose a lovely photo of some roses I received,
and then I reached into my hoard vault for the papers.
I love this collection!
It's French Country by DCWV.
Some of the papers are beautifully glittered!

Here's what I did:

It doesn't show very well in the photos
but the background paper has a soft green design on it.

I felt these pretty rosettes worked well with the soft colours.

I stitched through my title, as shown in the sketch!
I'm always happy to do a little stitching!

For my journaling, I used the sentiment quote from Shakespeare that I made up.
You can find it on my Free Stuff Page.
To make them stand out a bit more, I inked the edges of the title and the sentment.

I had so much fun making this layout!
I hope you enjoy looking at it!

Leaf All Your Cares Behind!

Hello, my friends!

I am back today to share my project for Deedee's September Digi of the Month Challenge.
This digi is called "Leaf Your Cares Behind" and you can find it in  Deedee's Shop...on sale for only $1.25!
It's another wonderful set with numerous images and sentiments!

As always, Deedee's digi sets come with pre-coloured images, or ones you can colour yourself.
 I chose to use the pre-coloured image this time.
I also used one of the sentiments that were included in the set.

The papers are from my all-time favorite Fall paper collection, which is the Indian Summer by Basic Grey.
I'm trying to make this paper last as long as I can!
Although it looks like quite a few complete layers on this card...it's not.
I  actually diecut the pieces and fit them all back together like a puzzle.
That way I even had enough paper to punch out my matching leaves!
Here's my card:

Materials Used:
Papers: Basic Grey - Indian Summer;
Image and Sentiment: Deedee's Digis - Leaf Your Cares Behind;
Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities - Decagons;
Punch: Martha Stewart - Rose Leaf;
DRibbon: Offray Sheer;
Sequins: Craft Medley.

Ephemera's Vintage Garden - Ephemera's Heartsong - Project #3

Hello, my friends!

I have a fun new project to share with you today!

This is my third project using the wonderful "Ephemera's Heartsong" kit
from Ephemera's Vintage Garden
Guess what?...The journal kit is even 50% off!
WOOHOO!!
  You can find it HERE.

I must say that I think this is one of my favorite kits from EVG.
It is so cheerful and versatile!

For my project I made a sweet little tag book!
I printed out the Jumbo Tags, cut them out, and used them as a template for the album.
I cut a multitude of tags out of the Journal Kit pages,
and then added in a few cardstock tags.
I adhered them all back to back in a pleasing order.
I inked all the edges with Distress ink, and shagged everything up with my Distrezz It All.
Finally, I punched a hole at the top of each page and slipped them on a binder ring.
Then all that was left was to embellish the pages.
Not much was needed because this kit is so full of goodness!

I've got lots of pictures to share.
I've placed the pages side by side without the ring to make it easier to take pictures.
Here we go:

This is the front cover, and one of the Jumbo Tags.
I fussy cut some extra mushrooms, and popped them up with foam tape.
I added a pretty pink bow to the binder ring.

These papers are so pretty!
I simply added a flower in one corner.

On the left page I added a belly band, and a stopper.
These hold the sweet little envelope.
The envelope holds some journal tags.
Finally, I added a flower to the belly band.

On the right page, I added a punched pocket to the bottom.
In the pocket is another fun envelope the holds some mini postcards.
Another little journal spot is added to the pocket.

On the left, a simple flower was added.
On the right, I fussy cut the butterfly and turned it into a  tag pocket.
The sentiment was also fussy cut and adhered.

On the right, I fussy cut a flower and made a tag pocket.
I also added a "wish" ticket tag

On the left I created a tag pocket out of a journal card,
then added a "believe" ticket.
On the right, I fussy cut one of the cute girls, adhered her on one side, and tucked some tags behind her.

More wonderful bits from the kit!

On the right I used a corner of the paper to create an angled pocket.
I tucked in more sweet journal cards, and added the "inspire" ticket.

Another butterfly pocket on the left side,
and a simple flower on the right.

Pretty pages!

Another flower pocket and the "dream" ticket.

Here I used the other Jumbo Tag for the back cover.
A simple flower and bit of lace and it was finished!

Below is one final picture of the front and back cover.
I added coloured eyelets for the binder ring.

Materials Used:
Papers: Ephemera's Vintage Garden - Ephemera's Heartsong
Journal Kit, Jumbo Tags;
Punch: EK Success Border Punch - Arches;
Ink: Walnut Stain Distress Ink;
Tools: Distrezz-It-All;
My Stash: Eyelets, Brads, Flowers, Lace.

Hello, my friends!

Today is the start of a new challenge at Scrapbook Blessings Club!
I missed out on the fun last month because I was away.
This month it's an easy one that you can all join in on.

The September challenge is:
ANYTHING GOES!
As always, there is an optional twist:
YOUR FAVORITE TECHINIQUE!

Our generous Sponsor this month is:

Scrapping For Less

They are offering a fabulous prize!
Details can be found at Scrapbook Blessings Club.

I have created a card using products that you can find at Scrapping For Less.
The items available are listed under my card.
I also used a few of my favorite techniques:
colouring, punching, and die-cutting.

This card was inspired by the fun file folder edge dies.
They were gifted to me by a dear friend
but you can find your own at Scrapping For Less.
I also used this sweet Sushi Doll called D's Obsession.
It's an older image but it was perfect for a "back to school" themed card.
You'll find it HERE towards the bottom of the page.

Here's my card:

Materials Used:
Papers: Rcollections - Cardstock, DCWV - Hittin' the Books Paperpad;
Image: Sushi Doll - D's Obsession,
Punch: EK Success Border Punch;
Paperclip and Ribbon from my Stash.
