One More Fun Announcement...

Hello, my friends!

I recently created a layout for a challenge over at ScrapMuch?
You can see my layout HERE.

You know I like to use fun sketches, and Laura's are so very inspiring to me!
I also found the DT to be very welcoming!

Well...I'm thrilled to tell you that I will now be a part of that great Design Team!
Yay for me!

Back when I didn't think I could make cards,
I used to make more layouts.
So now you'll be seeing what I hope is a good balance of both layouts and cards.
Oh, and mini albums, and altered items, and more! lol

My first DT project will be shared on November 6th.
In the meantime, pop on over to ScrapMuch? and check out the DT Announcement post HERE.

You'll also want to join the blog so you don't miss any of the fun inspiration there!

Okay...that's it for announcements for me!
My schedule is full!

Thank you all for your continual support! :o)

Deedee's October Digi of the Month Challenge Reminder

Happy Sunday, my friends!

I am back today to share my project for Deedee's October Digi of the Month Challenge.

This digi is called "Pumpkin Patch" and you can find it in  Deedee's Shop...on sale for only $1.25!
It's another wonderful set with numerous images and sentiments!

Every Fall I make a couple of 8 X 8 pages to add to my Fall album.
This is one of those pages.
I used the pre-coloured digi because I really like the plaid shirt on the scarecrow.
I also printed out the cute sign, and added my own words.
The title of this page is also from the set.
It's the perfect digi to show off my pumpkin patch photo!

Materials Used:
Papers: Hot Off the Press Collection Pad,
DCWV - Textured Cardstock;
Image: Deedee's Digis - Pumpkin Patch.

Happy Thanksgiving...and Some Happy News!

Hello, my lovely friends!

This weekend is our Canadian Thanksgiving weekend!

As many of you already know...I lost my older brother this week.
As you read this I am traveling to lay him to rest.
Saturday is my brother's funeral,
followed by my Uncle's funeral on Sunday.

It's not quite the Thanksgiving weekend I had been looking forward to.
In spite of my deep sorrow...I am so very thankful for so much!
God is good...and ever faithful
...and it is well with my soul...
or it will be soon! ;o)

So that leads me to some happy news I have to share.
I have been invited to join the Deedee's Digis Design Team!
Yay for me! :o)
It's a yay for you too, as you get to see more of Deedee's fun digis!

So...with everything that's been happening around here,
I made a Thanksgiving card for all of you.
Even if your country is not celebrating this weekend...

Happy Thanksgiving to YOU!

I've always thought every day is the perfect day to give thanks! :o)

Ephemera's Vintage Garden - Merry Melody - Project #1

Hello, my friends!

I have a new printable kit to introduce to you this month.
This is the "Merry Melody" kit from Ephemera's Vintage Garden
  You can find it HERE.
This is a beautiful Christmas kit!

The concept of a December Daily really appeals to me
but I just don't have enough going on in my everyday life to fill one up
...not even in December.
So I used this kit to make an album that would work for me.

The album contains 12 pocket pages, which each hold a tag that measures 4 3/4" X 6".
Each page is approximately 5" X 7".
This album will hold 30 4" X 6" photos.
Many more photos can be added if I choose to cover up some of the lovely images.
(Which I have such a hard time doing!)

I began by cutting everything out,
then distressing all the edges with both my Distrezz-It-All and distress ink.
Every other page is the same lined page where I can add all my journaling.
There are many more spots for journaling on all the tags and cards,
which have all been matted on cardstock.
Red is an obvious colour choice for a Christmas album,
but then I pulled out the touches of turquoise from the kit.
It's one of my very favorite colour combinations!

I think that covers the basics of this mini album construction.
I've used my new Fuse Tool to add some fun elements.
Details will be explained under each photo.

I have LOTS of photos to share, so let's get to it!

I used naked chipboard for the front and back covers.
Then I used elements from the kit to decorate it, and added:
two red  doilies, a little poinsettia, some feathers, and some bling.
I tied numerous ribbons on the binding wires.

I added a fun element inside the cover.
Using my Fuse Tool I made a closed pocket that holds: glitter, beads, bling, and sequins.
It's so sparkly and pretty!

I also layered some punched borders, and another little poinsettia.

This is the first of the six pretty pages.
It didn't need a thing added!

On the left side is a pocket created by part of the ticket strip.
It holds two library cards.
Here I inserted a custom fused photo pocket, which will hold two 4 X 6 photos.

Another pretty page!
I just added a little poinsettia.

On the left page I adhered the bird with foam tape.
It holds this great little pocket that holds three tags.
I used one of the bingo tags for an insert.

On the back of the insert I added a fussy cut owl.

One of the element strips layered on the bottom of the page holds the little bird.
Another custom fused photo pocket.

More punched border strips form this pocket on the right.

Another bird pocket on the left, and another bingo tag insert.

Here I've layered on a few of the little elements.

Another pretty element used to hold a tag,
and one final photo pocket insert.

I used the rest of the ticket strip to hold two additional tags.

This is the last of the six pages.

The back page has one final tag pocket.
On the inside back cover I adhered the large pocket that holds two more large journal tags.
I popped an additional candy on top of the candy using foam tape.
I then covered it with a layer of glossy accents.
Finally, some more punched border strips.

I like to make my pocket tags look pretty.
The album covers are cut slightly bigger to protect the punched edges.

One final view of my finished mini album!
I hope you like it!
Please let me know if you have any questions.
